01 - Combine water, honey, ginger slices, lemon zest, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, turmeric, and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
02 - Place pear halves cut side down into the simmering syrup. Cover and simmer gently for 20 to 25 minutes, turning pears once halfway through, until tender yet intact.
03 - Remove pears with a slotted spoon and set aside. Increase heat and reduce the syrup for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
04 - Serve the pears warm or chilled, drizzled with the golden ginger syrup. Garnish with chopped pistachios or toasted almonds and fresh mint if desired.
